Italian fugitive who killed his uncle and threw his corpse into a furnace hid in Marbella before being found under a bed clutching €50k in cash

AN Italian fugitive wanted for the horrific murder of his uncle has been captured after hiding out in Marbella.

The 39-year-old was staying at a luxury hotel in the city in July when he was convicted and sentenced to life in prison by a court in Italy.

He had fled just before sentencing and was seen rocking pink Bermuda shorts and white cap while enjoying a €700-a-night hotel with his 10-year-old son and wife, complete with a swimming pool, gym, restaurants and cocktail bars.

But on July 1, judges in his home country found him guilty of killing his uncle and throwing his body into a furnace at the family’s smelting plant.

The murder had taken place back in October 2015, but due to a lack of a body or DNA evidence, police took years to build their case and bring it to trial.

Upon hearing of his conviction, the Italian dumped his Maserati in Marbella and drove a hire car back to Italy.

On July 12, he was finally tracked down to his house in the town of Soiano del Lago, in the northern region of Brescia.

According to the EFE news agency, he was found hiding under his bed alongside €50,000 in cash.

He has been sent to the nearby Cantu Mombello prison to serve out the start of his life sentence.

An Italian court ultimately found that he had killed his uncle inside the smelting factory due to a disagreement over the running of the business.
