From smart fridges to sensory art: Spanish art fair shows how innovation is transforming homes around the country

A NEW hangover cure has hit the market – and it is not what you may be expecting.

Instead of reaching for a slice of toast or a painkiller to fight off that pounding headache, imagine opening your fridge to a soft, dim light that adjusts to the atmosphere of the room.

This smart new Miele fridge matches its lights to the kitchen to create a gentler, more soothing experience when you have had one too many drinks.

The MasterCool III also helps out when you are at the supermarket and struggling to remember if you have got milk or carrots at home. Its built-in cameras allow you to peek inside the fridge from your phone no matter where you are, so you never purchase too many ingredients again.

The company has also created a vacuum sealed drawer and steam oven designed to make cooking effortless, luxurious and enjoyable.

Meanwhile, Technogym has created equipment that blends seamlessly into modern homes while offering a fully immersive ‘sensory experience’.

Its luxury gym equipment is designed to integrate family life and wellness, with all elements being controlled by a single, elegant system.

Here the combination of form and function ensures that exercising at home is efficient and visually harmonious with contemporary interior design.

Both companies were displaying alongside 50 others at this years Marbella Art & Design fair.

The event showcases the most exciting products, design innovations and emerging trends this year.

Beyond tech, the fair highlighted investment art, including works by Frederic Saco who is rapidly emerging as a sought-after name in the investment art market.

One collector has purchased eighteen of Sacro’s works and plans to produce a film about him which will further increase the value of his art.

With many of his pieces approaching blue-chip status, a rare achievement for a living artist, Sacro is one to watch.

Also hanging on the walls were metamosaics created by Giorgia Palombi whose 3D works challenge traditional mosaics by introducing a variety of textures, such as felt and soft fabrics.

Her pieces add a sensory layer to any room they are in, reinforcing the fair’s mission to showcase how design and art contribute to each and every home.

From sophisticated appliances to investment-worthy art, the eighth annual Marbella Art & Design fair displayed how aesthetic, innovation and functionality can blend together.
