SPAIN’S most famous matador has confirmed his return to the bullring in Andalucia this month.
Morante de la Puebla is making a comeback on May 15 at the Feria del Caballo Jerez, after a serious goring in Sevilla last month left him in agony.
The Sevilla-born matador was left in a ‘serious condition’ after a brutal 10cm goring perforated his rectum.
The event in Jerez de la Frontera will now mark his first appearance back in the ring after his recovery, during which there will be a tribute to Rafael de Paula.
Originally, de la Puebla was going to return this Sunday in Valladolid.

Medical tests, including a recent MRI scan, revealed that soft tissues affected by the goring remain inflamed.
Doctors raised concerns over the risk of a relapse if he were to take to the ring too soon.
The matador had been pushing for a return and tested himself with young bulls at a private ranch.

However, the trial did not go as planned, leading to the decision to postpone his comeback.
All eyes now turn to Andalucia where De la Puebla is expected to return at the Feria del Caballo, a major fixture in the Spanish bullfighting calendar.
He has also planned appearances across major Spanish bullrings including Sevilla, Granada and El Puerto de Santa Maria.
The withdrawal of fellow star Roca Rey – also injured at Sevilla’s Feria de Abril festivities – further complicates his absence from Valladolid.
Organisers are now scrambling to reshape the festival line-up.
Rising names such as Borja Jimenez and established figures like Alejandro Talavante will step in.
