THE Costa Blanca is braced for a dramatic change in weather this weekend with storms and heavy rainfall are set to sweep across Alicante province from Friday.
Forecasters from Spain’s state meteorological agency AEMET say conditions will deteriorate rapidly.
The storms will blanket much of the coastline in thick cloud, torrential rain and thunderstorms.
Storms will hit areas from the Marina Alta to the Vega Baja hardest, while persistent heavy rain will also soak inland towns.
The unsettled weather follows a taste of summer-like warmth on Thursday, when temperatures peaked at 30C in Orihuela.

Authorities have urged residents and visitors to remain alert to weather updates.
Conditions could become severe in some areas over the weekend.
