DRIVERS using the A-7 and AP-7 around Marbella are being warned to expect more traffic delays until the end of June as major soundproofing works continue.
The works, aimed at reducing traffic noise on the Marbella bypass, began on May 12 and are still affecting traffic heading towards Malaga.
Lanes have been narrowed, causing slower traffic and congestion on one of the Costa del Sol’s busiest roads.
Several busy junctions are also affected, including exits and access points for Marbella and Avenida del Trapiche, as well as the junction linking the A-355, Ojen, Marbella and a nearby shopping centre.

The connection between the AP-7 and A-7 towards Fuengirola and Malaga is also included in the works.
In addition to the daytime disruption, there may also be occasional overnight lane closures in the direction of Malaga between 10pm and 6am.
Authorities are asking drivers to be very careful and pay close attention to temporary road signs while travelling through the area.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility said the project is aimed at reducing traffic noise for people living near the Marbella bypass.
The work is being paid for through the government’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, with funding from the European Union’s Next Generation programme.
