A ‘BRITISH’ man has been killed on the Costa del Sol, with police suspecting his partner, who later attempted to take his own life.
Authorities were called to a luxury residential complex in La Alcaidesa, near Sotogrande, at 4.30pm on Saturday 6 June.
Police discovered a man dead in a pool of blood inside the property, while an older man, his partner, was found seriously injured outside after allegedly attempting to take his own life.
Investigators are working on the theory that the couple were involved in an extremely violent altercation involving a machete and a hammer, leaving one man dead and the other seriously injured.
The suspected attacker is believed to have attempted to take his own life by jumping from a window of the property after the incident.
He was found lying on the floor outside the property by neighbours who altered the authorities.

After receiving initial treatment from emergency services, he was transferred to the University Hospital of La Linea, where he is currently undergoing medical treatment.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Sources consulted by El Mundo said both men were British nationals who had been living at the La Alcaidesa property for the past three years.
Until now, the couple had not been linked to any known violent incidents and had never raised concerns among neighbours.
Police are continuing to investigate the case and are waiting to take a statement from the survivor to establish the circumstances surrounding his partner’s death.
