Tourist, 18, falls to his death from seventh floor in Granada resort town after San Juan night out

AN 18-year-old tourist died after falling from the seventh floor  of a building in Granada’s Almuñecar resort. 

Guardia Civil officers are investigating the death of the young tourist who fell from the seventh floor balcony of an apartment building on Almuñecar’s beachfront Paseo del Altillo. 

The incident occurred at around 8am on Wednesday, with emergency services alerted after passers-by discovered the teenager’s body lying in the street.

Paramedics and police quickly arrived on the scene, but were unable to save the young man’s life. 

According to Europa Press, the teenager had rented an apartment with a group of friends and had been on a night out as part of the San Juan festivities before the fatal fall.

Reports indicate that horrifyingly the 18-year-old fell from a seventh floor balcony and crashed into a balcony railing on the sixth floor before landing on the street below. 

Authorities have not released further details about the identity of the young man but the Civil Guard is investigating the circumstances that led to his death.
