Police hunt driver of ‘large vehicle’ that struck and killed a Norwegian teenager on the A7 near Mijas

A MANHUNT is underway to track down a driver who ploughed down and killed a Norwegian teenager as she returned home from a night out in Marbella.

The 17 year old victim, identified as Nikoline, had taken an Uber to Mijas after celebrating the World Cup match in a Puerto Banus nightclub.

A lorry driver is currently being questioned as a witness following the tragic hit-and-run near Mijas, Guardia Civil sources told The Olive Press.

Nikoline was staying on a family holiday and was reportedly due to fly home on the day of her tragic death.

A missing person report stated that she was last seen in Funky Buddha, in Puerto Banus, together with other Norwegian teenagers.

Her parents reported her missing on Monday after having lost all contact with her.

Sources indicate that Nikoline had lost all contact with her friends and family the night of the accident, and that she was not carrying her ID.

The family was reportedly returning to Norway on the day of the accident, when Nikoline was planning on celebrating a birthday with some friends.

Traffic investigators believe that she was hit by a large vehicle, whose driver’s identity remains unknown.

The incident occurred at 5.20am this morning on the A-7 in Mijas, where several witnesses alerted responders that a woman had been hit by a vehicle driving towards Malaga.

The incident caused traffic to build up on the A-7, with long queues stretching over three kilometers as the right lane – where the accident took place – was partially closed off.

Investigation is still open with the Guardia Civil traffic division searching for the suspect.
