CLOSE pals Noah Heydorn and Alfie Clarke are heading to the Big Smoke after snaring almost perfect grades.
The 18-year-old expats, who grew up in Spain, snared six A*s in this year’s A-level results.
Despite only achieving A’s in a fourth subject they are off to Imperial and UCL universities in London.
The pair, who attended Laude school in Marbella, found out their grades this morning.
Choosing to go to the school, in San Pedro, to get the grades in person – rather than by email – they couldn’t believe they had both got identical grades.
Their head of Sixth Form Chris Litchfield was waiting for them with a big grin on his face.
“I can’t believe you didn’t look at your emails before coming in,” he told them, adding: “Nor did I expect for you two to do so well”.
Heading off for a well-earned coffee before their holiday jobs begin, Alfie said: “I was so nervous this morning and could hardly sleep last night. Now I’m off to London. It’s very exciting!”
The student, who was born in Ronda, is reading Geography at UCL, while Noah, from Sweden, is reading EFDS (Finance, economics and data science) at Imperial.
Students around the world are receiving their A-level results this morning.
A total of 28.5% of students achieved an A or A* this year in the UK.
That’s a small increase on last year’s 28.3%, and lower than in 2020 and 2021.
Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (Ucas), which says a record number of UK teens have secured their first choice university.
Some 228,990 students have been accepted onto their first choice course.
