THIS is the epic moment a Spanish Olympic skateboarder timed a striking mid-air stunt with a total solar eclipse on Wednesday.
Viral footage captured Danny Leon, 31, gliding off a ramp against the backdrop of the celestial event in rural Spain, as the moon briefly obscured the sun around 8.20pm and thousands across the country watched in awe.
Leon, who placed ninth at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, captioned the video on social media ‘the move of my life’, with the post garnering millions of views within just a few hours.
It is the third time the skateboarder has captured stunning photographs of his tricks against the backdrop of celestial bodies.
In April last year, Leon was pictured airborne with his skateboard as the large orange disc of the setting sun gleamed in the background, with the post drawing thousands of views and comments on social media.

Then, three months ago, he published a similar photo against the backdrop of a stunning full moon, joking that he was an astronaut left behind by NASA, which he tagged in the post.
It was the trick during Wednesday’s eclipse, however, that amassed the most views, with the post logging 5.5 million likes since going live at 10pm.
It came as large swathes of Spain were plunged into daytime darkness during the country’s first total solar eclipse in more than a century.

Crowds gathered on hilltops and coastlines as the celestial event swept across the peninsula from Galicia to the Balearics, with locations including Teruel and Zaragoza enjoying some of the best views as the sun was completely obscured.
Madrid, Barcelona and Andalucia were treated to an almost-total eclipse, with up to 99% of the celestial disc blotted out by the moon.
Social media have since become awash with photographs of the event, with stunning shots coming in from across Spain and Europe.
