POLICE have ruled out double murder after an Irish couple were found dead in a murky jacuzzi at a luxury Valencia holiday home.
The Guardia Civil is investigating a tragic accident hypothesis after the 45-year-old Irish woman, originally from County Monaghan, and her 50-year-old husband were discovered by their teenage children.
The couple, who had lived in England for over a decade, were renting a property in the exclusive Colina del Sol complex in the Cap Blanc urbanisation, which sits high on the Cullera mountainside, a coastal town south of Valencia city.

The luxury villa, owned by a Polish landlord, is rented out to holidaymakers for between €450 and €520 a night.
However, investigators from the Homicide Unit definitively ruled out a violent break-in after finding no signs of forced entry and reviewing security cameras.
Preliminary examinations revealed one of the victims had suffered scratches and minor puncture wounds, with traces of blood found near the tub.
Detectives now suspect one of the spouses suffered a sudden collapse or medical emergency in the water.
They believe the other partner desperately attempted a rescue, unintentionally causing the minor injuries during the struggle before also succumbing to the same fate.
The jacuzzi water was described as warm but cloudy when the bodies were found.
Specialists are meticulously inspecting the tub’s motors, filters and suction system to determine if a mechanical failure, accidental entrapment or a toxic gas leak triggered the initial collapse.
The tragic discovery was made by the couple’s two sons, aged 14 and 16, who have special needs.
The teenagers were on the lower floor of the two-storey villa and did not hear any alarms or sounds of distress.
They are now receiving specialised psychological care while staying at a local hotel.
Three relatives flew in from Ireland to take custody of the boys, arriving at Alicante airport at 3am on Wednesday.
Cullera town hall dispatched a taxi to collect them from the airport and arranged to house the reunited family in a local hotel.
Forensic doctors at the Institute of Legal Medicine in Valencia are currently conducting autopsies to establish the exact cause and sequence of the deaths.
