Good news on 50m euro marina for Axarquia

A HUGE 50 million euro project to expand Caleta de Velez marina has been given the green light.

The Junta has confirmed its intention to licence the expansion of the marina this year despite environmental concerns.

The ambitious scheme will see an increase in the number of berths available from 277 to 791 and will also double the leisure and fishing area.

The scheme should get underway this year assuming it passes an ongoing environmental study to ensure the protection of an endangered species of limpet.

  1. So,
500 rich people will be subsidised to the tune of €50 million – would’nt that money be better deployed in grubstaking young Spanish people who have lots of good ideas but no means of finance available to them.

Some of those small businesses will fail(that’s quite normal) but some would succeed and provide more employment in Axarquia rather than forcing the young to go to Barcelona, Madrid or abroad – oh sorry that’s a sensible, forwarding looking idea – can’t have that in Spain.
