Busy taxman

tax crackdown offshore accounts expats

With Spain desperately looking for ways to raise much needed cash, it is inevitable that the tax authorities should be on high alert.

And for expats with offshore accounts, the recent investigations should be a wake-up call.

For anyone who might be looking nervously over their shoulder, now could be the time to seek some frank financial advice as innocence, or ignorance perhaps, could leave you with a hefty fine and even a criminal conviction.

What were once tax havens may become tax burdens as campaigns seeking more financial transparency in places like Jersey and Malta gather pace.

Tax dodgers beware!
