A FOOTBALL match at this year’s World Police and Fire Games was abandoned after the Marbella team’s sportsmanship turned sour.
The Spanish team had two players sent off in the first 15 minutes of the over 35s game, and the referee was barely able to keep control.
According to organisers, ‘continued inappropriate behaviour’ by the Marbella team made it necessary to shut down the game.
This was one of 19 events on the fifth day of the games.
