A pet is rescued every five minutes in Spain

dogSPAINโ€™S animal lovers saved a creature every five minutes last year.

Over 140,000 cats and dogs were scooped up by animal sanctuaries, according to the Affinity Foundation Study, which claims abandonment is Spainโ€™s biggest pet problem.

โ€œThe reality is far harsher and surely it is at least 30% higher,โ€ said Maria Costuya from the National Association of Animal Friends (ANAA).
