A ZAHARA de los Atunes tapas bar is hoping to gobble up a major national award.

La Esquina de Catalina is one of 48 Spanish restaurants battling at the ninth Concurso Nacional de Pinchos y Tapas in Valladolid between November 9 and 11.

Representing Cadiz, chef Manuel Alba Chico, whose rendang tapas – an Indonesian-influenced stewed cheek and tomato concoction – took second prize at the 2015 Ruta del Retinto de Zahara.
