Future is bright as Spain’s economy grows in line with expectations

SPAIN’S economy grew by 3.1% in 2017 and the forecast is bright.

The Bank of Spain predicted that domestic demand would contribute 2.6% to gross domestic product (GDP) growth, external demand would contribute 0.5%, and employment would increase by 2.9%.

Its economic forecasts were in line with the Spanish government which also predicted 3.1% growth for 2017.

As for the future, the Bank of Spain expects the country’s economy to grow by 2.4% in 2018 and by 2.1% in 2019 and 2020.
