ROSALIA has become the first Spanish artist to win an MTV Music Award.
The 25-year-old Catalan won the Best Latino Video award for her song Con Altura with J Balvin and El Guincho.
“I come from Barcelona,” she said in her acceptance speech at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.
“Thank you for inviting me to sing on this stage in Spanish.”
The Bagdad singer also lit up the stage at the ceremony as she performed Tu x Mi, Yo x Ti with Ozuna, in which she sung a capella.
It was the first time the pair has performed the hit song together, while Rosalia wrapped up her night by singing Aute Cuture.
Around 20,000 people attended the 36th edition of the MTV Video Music Awards.
Other winners included US star Taylor Swift, who bagged Video of the Year for her tune You Need to Calm Down.
Artist of the Year went to Ariana Grande, while Billie Eilish was Best New Artist and Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus won Song of the Year for Old Town Road (Remix).
