Gunman who shot ‘friend’ to death on Spain’s Costa del Sol still on the run as more details emerge

POLICIA Nacional are still hunting the for the gunman believed to be responsible for shooting a neighbour to death on the Costa del Sol yesterday.

The 53-year-old Spaniard is reportedly familiar with his victim and has gone on the run after carrying out the alleged murder in Fuengirola at around 6.40pm.

Several neighbours had dialled 112 emergency service to report the sound of gunshots in the Los Nucleos area, right by the fairground.

Medical staff were rushed to the scene alongside police but there was nothing they could do to save the man.

An autopsy is being carried out at the Institute of Legal Medicine of Malaga (IML) this morning.

Police say they have yet to find a motive.
