NATIONAL POLICE agents used their noses to help sniff out a marijuana plant that sprouted ‘beanstalk-like’ into a five-metre high tree in Molina de Segura, Murcia.

Agents smelt marijuana on a Molina street and decided to knock on a few doors to find out where the aroma was wafting from.

Their inquiries took them to a property which had the entire patio covered over by cladding.

It was a ruse to conceal the single marijuana plant that had blossomed into a tree.

The tree was cut down and agents seized a quantity of large buds from it.

A man and a woman were arrested for drug trafficking.
