DEPARTMENT store El Corte Ingles have announced a 24-hour unlimited delivery scheme to compete with online retailers Amazon.

Costing  €19.90 a year customers can now order any product, including supermarket shopping, using an app on their phones or tablets.

Like Amazon Prime, the products will then be delivered within 24 hours.

Previously, El Corte Ingles only allowed app orders for food and household goods from HiperCor.

But the new technology will extend to all product lines from jewellery to electronics.

The subscriptions comes with unlimited deliveries, meaning customers can place multiple orders a day.

It comes after El Corte Ingles were under fire in August for an advertisement that looked like a child was hanging.
