Spain’s Costa Blanca continues to buck national trend as new COVID-19 cases fall

COVID-19 infections and hospital cases record new falls in Costa Blanca and Valencia areas of Spain

NEW COVID-19 cases have shown another fall in Alicante Province and across the Valencian Community.

The figures continue to counter big upward trends seen across other regions in Spain.

The Valencian Health Ministry said last night(October 7) that 174 new coronavirus cases had been recorded in Alicante Province compared to 197 the previous day.

The Valencian Community as a whole reported 380 new infections in comparison to 589 on Tuesday.

Six people have died across the region since the previous update.

The number of people in Alicante Province hospitals being treated for COVID-19 has fallen by two to 121 with 30 in intensive care.

Areas with new outbreaks include Albatera, Alicante City and Elche.
