Movistar+ and F1 to continue exclusive Spain viewing partnership until 2023

MOVISTAR+ will continue to hold Spain’s exclusive television rights for the F1 World Championship until 2023 in new three year deal.

The new extension, announced today, will see the Spanish television mainstay continue to show unrivaled coverage of all Formula 1 events in all Spanish territories.

Movistar took over exclusive rights in 2014 on a three year deal, before announcing a two year extension in January 2018.

Their specific F1 channel, now available in high definition 4K quality, will continue to show all practice sessions as well as qualifying and the race, plus after shows and in depth analysis.

“Spain is an important market for us, especially with such brilliant Spanish talent growing in the championship like Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso making his much anticipated return next season” said Ian Holmes, director of media rights for F1.

“We look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with Movistar+ as the sport enters an exciting new era.”

Juan Andres Garcia Ropero, Sport Director of Movistar+ said, “For Movistar to be able to extend our relationship with the F1 is great news. F1 is one of the most in demanded competitions from our customers, we have a dedicate a 24/7 channel, which has great dedicated content each weekend.”
