THREE suspects have finally been arrested, months after a shocking and violent home invasion in Mijas that left a Swedish expat seriously injured.
The arrests, carried out by the Guardia Civil, mark a breakthrough in a case that alarmed the Costa del Sol due to its calculated nature and extreme brutality.
All three suspects were minors at the time of the attack and have now been placed at the disposal of the Malaga Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.
Two of the detainees are believed to have attended the same school as the victim’s daughter.
The attack took place last May, when two of the suspects allegedly posed as delivery drivers to gain access to the victim’s home.
A third remained nearby as a lookout.

Investigators say the attackers restrained him, before beating and stabbing him multiple times.
They poured bleach over his body in an attempt to force him to reveal the location of money and valuables.
The gang fled with cash, jewellery, clothing and electronic devices worth approximately €1,300.
The victim required hospital treatment for his injuries.
Officers from the Mijas Guardia Civil identified and located the alleged perpetrators after months of investigative work, including forensic analysis and intelligence gathering.
Authorities uncovered evidence that the attack was carefully planned in advance.
The suspects had reportedly monitored the victim’s daily routine, knowing he would be alone after dropping his daughter off at school.
