‘Help me find my daughter’: Missing Ukrainian woman, 36, last seen in Murcia after ‘stressful’ traffic accident in Algeciras

AUTHORITIES are searching for a Ukrainian woman who vanished following a car crash in southern Spain.

Ilona Hunkova, 36, has not been heard from since April 19 after going on an erratic journey across the country.

The disappearance comes after she was involved in a traffic accident in Algeciras on March 11.

While nobody was injured and her legal counsel advised the incident would only result in a minor fine, it reportedly triggered severe mental distress.

Her mother, Nataliya, told the Olive Press that her daughter began travelling chaotically between Madrid, Barcelona, and Alicante.

“I beg you from the bottom of my heart to help me find my daughter,” she said in an emotional plea.

An online psychiatrist consulted by the family has diagnosed the 36-year-old with acute bipolar disorder.

Ilona sent a final message to her mother on April 19 stating she was in Murcia, but all contact has since been lost.

Relatives believe she has primarily been sleeping rough on the streets or staying in hostels.

Nataliya is pleading for the public’s help to track down her daughter, warning that dropping off the grid is a totally unusual action for her to take.

A formal missing person report has been filed with the Policia Nacional, who are urging anyone with information to come forward immediately.
