Police in Marbella launch week-long crackdown on drink and drug driving

POLICE in Marbella have launched a week-long crackdown on drink and drug driving.

The Policia Local are currently carrying out a special campaign of preventive checkpoints that will run until Sunday, May 17.

Officers have taken to the streets to reinforce road safety across the municipality and are reminding motorists that if they drink they must not drive.

The force issued a stark warning to rulebreakers, stating that drugs have no place behind the wheel under any circumstances.

Announcing the ongoing operation online, a spokesperson added that the safety of all road users is their absolute priority.

Expats and locals are being urged to drive responsibly to help create a safer Marbella while the heightened vigilance remains in place.
