Polish family among seven injured after driver ‘suffering epileptic seizure’ ploughs into a busy bar terrace at Costa del Sol beauty spot

SIX people, including two children, have been left injured and shocked after a car swerved into a busy bar in the Arxaquia region of Malaga.

The accident happened around 7.30pm Monday afternoon, at Bar Virtudes – a busy streetside hotspot near the old town of Frigliana.

Among the victims were two children aged five and 14, the latter of whom was taken to Nerja Primary Care Centre.

Three women aged 45, 48, and 79 were rushed to to Axarquía hospital for treatment, alongside two men aged 44 and 77.

The most seriously injured included members of a Polish tourist family; a father who suffered a fractured tibia, and a mother who had serious bruising.

Security footage shows a white Peugeot cruising down Calle San Sebastian, before veering off-track and ploughing into the busy terrace area.

Reports suggest the driver – a 47 year old woman – suffered an epileptic seizure, causing her to temporarily lose control of the vehicle.

The Frigiliana Local Police and the Guardia Civil are looking further into the condition of the driver, and the exact circumstances of the accident.

The incident has left an air of shock in the town of Frigliana, which has become increasingly busier with tourists over the past few months.
