A SUSPECT accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a motorhome has been captured by authorities after he attempted to flee into the sea.
Police apprehended an individual accused of sexually assaulting a 44-year-old woman by attacking her with a wooden club and pocket knife before being chased away by a passing motorist.
The violent event took place on June 21 around 5:30pm in Almeria near Rio Andarax.
Reports indicate that the passerby heard a woman screaming inside a campervan and started to blare his car horn to stop the assault.

The assailant took off, leaving the victim with multiple cuts and bruises, including injuries to her face.
Policia Nacional were contacted and given a description of the suspect, who was later found nearly drowning in the ocean.
Witnesses said the suspect swam out 100 metres from shore to avoid arrest before exhaustion took over.
Five police officers jumped into the water to grab the 21-year-old suspect who was semi-conscious.
After stabalising the attacker, he was arrested for suspected sexual assault along with causing injuries.
The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital before getting transferred to a police station.

Officers who rescued the man received medical attention due to sustaining minor injuries in recovering the alleged sex attacker from his attempted escape.
The victim was treated by emergency services at the scene and later taken to the Almeia Mateno Infantil Hospital for specialised forensic and gynaecological protocols.
The Spanish Penal Code considers sexual assault as an aggravated offense, with potential penalties ranging fom one to 15 years in prison depending on the surrounding circumstances.
