The child’s mother and father got her out of the water and started an attempt to resuscitate her.

Emergency services had been called to the address, located close to the Port of Pollenca.

The Policia Local were first on the scene and took over doing resuscitation measures.

An ambulance crew then replaced the officers and the girl was revived.

She was rushed to hospital with a weak pulse but after spending the night at Son Espases, she passed away.

As is a formality in such incidents, the Guardia Civil will carry out an investigation.

Last Friday, a three-year-old Danish boy died at San Espases after being pulled out of a pool at a finca in Santa Margalida.

The child’s mother and father got their daughter out of the water and started attempts to resuscitate her.
