TWO young men have been arrested in Benidorm after allegedly mugging a 67-year-old British tourist in a brutal broad daylight attack.
Shocking footage shared on social media shows one of the suspects punching the holidaymaker so hard in the face that he crashes to the ground before his wallet is snatched.
The alleged attackers, identified by sources as two Romanians aged 19 and 21, left the Brit lying injured in the street until help arrived.
He was taken to hospital and has since been discharged to recover at home.
Sources say the pair allegedly struck again just an hour later on June 28.
This time, they reportedly snatched a woman’s handbag from behind before trying to flee.
Several quick-thinking passersby, however, gave chase after hearing the victim’s cries for help.
One member of the public is said to have recovered the stolen bag and restrained the suspects until officers from the Policia Nacional and Benidorm Local Police arrived.
Investigators later concluded the two robberies were linked.

A Policia Nacional spokesman told SUR that the pair were ‘arrested as the alleged perpetrators of violent robbery, theft and assault causing bodily harm.’
The suspects appeared before a court last Tuesday, though it remains unclear whether they are being held in custody or have been released on bail.
