IF you own a home on the Costa del Sol or the Costa Blanca, Spain’s World Cup glory could just have handed you a shot at free electricity for decades to come.
On Sunday 19th July, Spain were crowned world champions after a nail-biting 1-0 victory over Argentina in New Jersey, with Ferrán Torres striking the winner in extra time. From Marbella to Jávea, the streets erupted – car horns, flags, and impromptu parties that ran deep into the night.
And Marbella- and Jávea-based installer Marblanc Solar wants to keep the celebrations going.
To mark the historic win, the company is giving away a complete solar installation worth €25,500 to one lucky homeowner. No catch, and nothing to pay back.
Co-owner Roman Mitchell knows the feeling of the moment better than most — even if his own team didn’t make it far.
“I’ll be honest, as a Scotsman it stung a little to watch us crash out in the group stages,” said Mitchell. “But there’s nothing like being in Spain when ‘La Roja’ win. My new home went absolutely wild — the street parties, the flags, everyone out celebrating together. You couldn’t help but get swept up in it.”
“We’d already been planning our next giveaway, and honestly the timing felt perfect. Spain gave us all a reason to celebrate this week, and this is our way of giving something back to the community that’s welcomed us.”
What’s included in the €25,500 prize
The value isn’t just a headline figure. According to Mitchell, it reflects the true lifetime worth of going solar.
“When people hear €25,500, they assume it’s all hardware — but it’s much more than that,” he explained.
“That figure covers the cost of the system itself, plus the electricity you’d save over the full lifetime of the installation. On top of that, we’re including €1,200 of free aftersales care, so the winner is genuinely looked after for years, not just handed a set of panels and left to it.”
The prize includes premium all-black solar panels, a Huawei inverter, full professional installation, and three years of aftersales care.
How to enter
Entering couldn’t be simpler. All you need to do is book a free solar survey at your property before 31st July.
The survey takes around 20 minutes, comes with no obligation to buy, and ends with a personalised solar proposal for your home. If you’re not currently in Spain, it can even be done virtually.
Everyone who completes a survey before the deadline is automatically entered into the draw, which will take place live on 15th August on Marblanc Solar’s Facebook page — so everyone can see the choice is fair and unbiased.
To qualify, you must own your property (including the roof or outdoor space, so apartment owners aren’t eligible) and be based on the Costa del Sol, the Costa Blanca, or a nearby region.
