A 74-YEAR-OLD man has died after being hit by a vehicle while getting out of his broken-down lorry on a motorway in Marbella.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning on the A-7 motorway – between Marbella and Puerto Banus – heading towards Cadiz.
Several 112 calls alerted emergency services that a man had been hit by a vehicle.
The man had been driving a lorry, which had broken down on the roadside, according to Malaga Traffic Management Centre.
After getting out of the vehicle, he was fatally struck by a passing car.
The Guardia Civil, road maintenance crews and paramedics rushed to the scene, however were unable to save the man’s life.
