TWO men have been arrested over allegedly kidnapping, torturing, and robbing a Yemeni man on the Costa del Sol, with a manhunt for a third suspect underway.
The victim was found with his face severely disfigured at a BP petrol station in Torrox, Malaga, in May, after reportedly escaping his attackers.
Emergency services rushed him to the Axarquia Regional Hospital, where he was transferred to Malaga University hospital because of the severity of his injuries.
According to the Guardia Civil, the victim said he had been forced into a vehicle by three men in Torrox Costa, and driven to an isolated area called Pago de la Dehesa, around 5km north.
It was there that the men brutally assaulted him, threatened to kill him with a firearm, and stole a large sum of cash before abandoning him in the field.
The victim managed to seek help at the nearby petrol station that he got to by foot.
Following the investigation, police managed to identify the vehicle used in the attack and identify three suspects, which the victim confirmed were his alleged attackers.
Two of the suspects were arrested in Barcelona on May 30, and have since appeared before a judge on suspicion of illegal detention, armed death threats, and violent robbery causing serious bodily harm.
The third suspect remains on the run.
Police have not released details on the subject’s identity, potential whereabouts, or details on the robbery as the investigation and court proceedings continue.
