A BRITISH tourist has been arrested in Magaluf after slapping a police officer in the face and then trying to hit him while they wrestled on the ground.
Prior to the assault, the 27-year-old man was part of a group that were shouting profanities including ‘f*** the police’.
He was hauled before a Palma judge on Saturday and bailed- hours after he was carted away from the scene.

The Calvia Policia Local which covers the Mallorcan party resort were dealing with a person when around six or seven British tourists appeared from behind shouting insults.
The Ultima Hora newspaper reported that one of the officers asked them to behave and one of the group then confronted him.
The man defied the request to fall in line and was asked for some identification.
The tourist refused and tried to run off when, when the 27-year-old Brit pounced on the police officer and slapped him on his right cheek.
The victim managed to keep his balance to avoid falling to the ground, as the situation was on the verge of getting out of control.
Several of Brits threatened to attack him, and defensive measures were adopted, including striking the 27-year-old tourist who approached him aggressively.
He fled but as intercepted on foot, after the Brit tripped and fell to the ground, but still tried to flee.
He was caught but a struggle ensued with the officer with both men falling to the ground.
The assailant tried to hit the policeman again but he was brought to heel and arrested on the charge of attacking a police officer.
