Cordoba’s stylish new bridge

IT is appropriately named after a ninth century Cordoban scholar who tried to fly with wings made out of wood.

And the stylish Ibn Firnas bridge is certainly giving new wings to Cordoba, as it gives new links to the city from the A-4 motorway.

The wing-shaped bridge was designed by engineer Jose Luis Manzanares Japon, and cost 83 million euros to build.
