WATCH: Outrage as horses spotted drawing carriages in Cordoba during 38C heatwave

ANIMAL rights activists have slammed horse-drawn carriage drivers in Cordoba for ignoring local heatwave laws and forcing animals to work in blistering temperatures.

Animal rights party PACMA have launched a formal complaint after spotting multiple carriages operating in the city centre during peak heat hours.

According to a municipal decree from Cordoba town hall, horse-drawn carriages are strictly banned from circulating between 2pm and 7pm when official high-temperature alerts are active.

Activists confirmed that drivers completely flouted the restrictions today despite an active weather warning.

The group warned that exposing horses to extreme afternoon heat risks triggering heatstroke, dehydration, collapse, and even death.

The political party has issued an urgent demand to the Cordoba town hall and the ruling Partido Popular to increase police controls.
