COMARES residents risk their water meters being removed if they accumulate more than three unpaid bills, the town hall has warned.

Stricter measures have been introduced to claw back an estimated 60,000 euros of unpaid bills – which are often not delivered because properties have no letter boxes, or ignored because house owners do not live in Spain permanently.

Those unsure of their bill status should contact the town hall.
