THE world’s first ever gay police wedding has taken place in Spain.

Spanish bobbies Chema and Jonathan made history when they tied the knot in Jerez clad in full police uniform.

And the pair – from Algeciras – believe their wedding will set off a trend within the police force.

“We have plenty of gay friends within the police,” Chema said. “I am sure we are just the first of many to get married.

“It’s not something that should be hidden just because you belong to a particular institution.”

The couple will now travel across the US for their honeymoon.
