A BRITISH cyclist who miraculously survived a horror crash in Spain has died.

John Tefler, 57, died yesterday after battling infections and respiratory issues for the past six months.

The university lecturer, from West Lothian, Scotland, had broken his neck in two places during a cycling trip in Alicante.

He came off his bike after crashing into a friend who had been unseated by hitting a raised tree root.

He was in a coma for two weeks and doctors said it was a miracle he survived.

His son Gregg said the family were proud of his father and added that he was now ‘at peace’.
