THIS is the moment princess Leonor and her grandmother Queen Sofia had an awkward moment while leaving Easter Mass on Sunday.

In the clip, Sofia can be seen putting her arms round her granddaughters Leonor, 12, and Sofia, 10, ready to pose for pictures at the Palma Cathedral.

But the clip appears to show an awkward exchange between the former Queen, 79, and the reigning Letizia, 45.

The ex-journalist is seen trying to take the arm of her eldest daughter, who then shoves her grandmothers hand away in a tense moment.

Marie Chantal of Greece, who is married to King Felipe’s cousin, said on Twitter: “No grandmother deserves that type of treatment! Wow she’s shown her true colours.”
