Largest ever cocaine haul made in Spain’s Sevilla as 1000 kilos of the drug smuggled in banana truck

BANANAS: The fruit was used to smuggle in the largest shipment of cocaine Sevilla has ever seen

POLICE in Sevilla have seized 1000kg of cocaine, hidden in bananas, the city’s largest ever haul of the drug.

Boxes of the fruit, in a lorry, were used to smuggle the narcotic, and are now being kept at the police headquarters.

A total of three people have so far been arrested following the bust, the size of which has only previously been seen at sea.

Udyco anti-drug officers from Sevilla and Malaga forces were behind the record raid, a full press conference on which is to be held tomorrow.

The specialist agents involved coordinated with the Anti-drug Prosecutor’s Office of the Campo de Gibraltar.
