Family Crew Charged With Dozens Of Home Robberies Across Spain S Costa Blanca

THREE family members that specialised in stealing bicycles across the northern Costa Blanca have been charged with 42 robberies.

The two men and a woman stole around €60,000 in items including the bikes from rural-based urbanisations in Altea, Benissa, Calpe, Moraira and Callosa d’en Sarrià.

The Guardia Civil said that the trio ‘struck in off-peak hours and stole items that could easily be sold second-hand’.

Bicycles were nabbed from balconies and patio areas by simply forcing the security locks.

The crew then would go to second-hand traders across the Marina Alta and Marina Baixa to see if they were interested in buying any items.

The stolen goods were not brought directly to shops but stored in an old bathroom.

If a deal was struck, then the items were brought to a dealer later on.
