BREAKING: ALL bars and restaurants to be CLOSED in Spain’s Murcia to control COVID-19

Breaking

BAR and restaurants will be ordered to close in the Murcia region to battle the coronavirus, it has been announced.

The businesses across the whole region will have to close from this Saturday following a continuing surge in cases.

They will still be allowed to carry out home delivery and pickup services, but no customers are allowed inside or on the terraces.

It is not yet clear how long the measure will be in place for, but the norm is 14 days with a view to being extended.

Regional health spokesman Jaime Perez said yesterday that the data has been ‘especially worrying’ for the past for weeks.

The new measure comes amid fears of a second national lockdown, something the regions are desperate to avoid due to the economic consequences.

It comes after the UK announced last week that it would be adopting nationwide confinement until December 2.
