A BRITISH tourist, 66, died in a paragliding accident in Benidorm on Monday after she and her husband crashed into some rocks.
The couple had gone out to sea off the resort’s Levante beach in a boat.
They were in the air when a strong gust of wind is believed to have snapped the guide rope- around eight millimetres thick- linking them to the vessel.

The parachute then went out of control towards the Rincon de Loix area of the city before crashing into rocks.
The Guardia Civil have launched an investigation into the accident which happened at around 6.50pm.
Weather conditions had suddenly changed and a red flag had been raised to stop bathing and all water activities.
The boat had apparently sailed out when a lower-grade yellow flag warning was in operation which still allows activities like paragliding to continue but under caution.
The unnamed British tourist went into a cardiac arrest after the crash and emergency teams took her to the Port of Benidorm where health workers treated her.
One report suggested that they briefly managed to revive her but she died later in hospital.
Her husband suffered multiple injuries including broken ribs but remained conscious and could walk.
Eyewitnesses spoke to the Informacion newspaper about seeing the parachute losing control after its guide rope snapped.
They said they could tell that the route the parachute was taking made it sadly obvious that it was going crash into the rocks.
