AN off-duty Guardia Civil officer will be tried for sexual assault after being accused of groping a woman’s backside in Malaga.
The attack happened last Sunday morning while they were waiting to catch a taxi close to the Cortijo de Torres fairground which was hosting the city’s annual fair.
An eyewitness spoke to Malaga Policia Local officers who were part of the fair’s security operation and told them there had been an incident at the taxi rank.

Officers found the female victim who pointed out the man who had ‘groped’ her buttocks.
The woman’s account was verified by a witness and the Policia Local arrested the suspect for sexual assault.
The Guardia officer, who does not live in Malaga province, was taken to the police station and then to a court appearance where he was bailed.
The Prosecutor’s Office confirmed he had been charged with sexual assault and though proceedings were set to go for a ‘speedy trial’, no agreement was reached on that count between the parties.
It now means the defendant will be tried in the coming months at Malaga Criminal Court.
