MALLORCA has been warned of ‘hurricane winds’ that could exceed 120km/hr.
The entire Balearic island has been placed on an orange alert for Wednesday by state weather agency Aemet.
It has warned of ‘very strong winds’ caused by storms of around 90-120km/hr.

It added: “With a possibility of being hurricane winds (above 120km/hr).”
According to the Beaufort Scale, used to classify winds around the world, sustained winds of over 120km/hr are classed as hurricane force.
They are said to pose a risk of ‘considerable and widespread damage to structures.’
Mallorca is also on an orange alert for rainfall tomorrow.
According to Aemet, up to 50mm could fall per square metre, rising to 90mm in some areas.
The start of September has seen storms wreaking havoc across large areas of north and eastern Spain.
In Aragon, roads have collapsed, while huge balls of hail have been landing in La Rioja.
Much of the Valencia coast and parts of Alicante have also seen the heavens open.
