How a brutal Latin American gang war has broken out in the streets of Madrid after top bosses were jailed

A BRUTAL Latin American gang war has broken out in the streets of Madrid after top gang bosses were arrested, leading to a fight for control.

The trouble is centred in Puente de Vallecas, where different groups of the Trinitarios gang are now fighting each other.

This started after police arrested the gang’s leaders in the area, which has led to a conflict to take control of the district.

Police describe the situation as an ‘internal war’.

In recent weeks, there have been several fights between members of the same gang, often involving knives.

Historically, most fights in this area were contested between the Trinitarios and their rivals, the Ñetas.

However, the violence is now primarily concentrated within the same gang.

The situation seems to have worsened after the Policia Nacional arrested the district’s gang leader, Luis Javier MO, who is currently in pre-trial detention, accused of attempted murder.

On top of that, other key members of the gang have also been arrested.

One of them participated in an attack that occurred in November on Payaso Fofo Street, where a 40-year-old man was brutally beaten after refusing to hand over a cigarette.

With the leaders gone, different groups are now trying to take control.

Members from other parts of Madrid, especially Tetuan and Torrejon de Ardoz, have moved into Vallecas to take advantage of the situation.

These outside groups are now clashing with local members over control of the area.

According to police, the conflict within the gang began at the start of 2026 and has already led to several arrests.

On March 25, four people were arrested after a fight between rival groups within the Trinitarios gang.

Therefore, police are increasing patrols and taking weapons off the streets.
