EIGHT people have been injured after a dramatic three-vehicle collision involving a police patrol car, a ride-hailing taxi and a private vehicle in Madrid.
According to emergency services, the crash happened at around 4.30pm at the busy, traffic light-controlled junction of Calle de Alcala and Calle Miguel Yuste in Madrid.
Firefighters rushed to the scene after the female driver of one of the cars became trapped inside her vehicle.
She was later cut free from the wreckage before being transferred to La Paz Hospital where officials say she is in a potentially serious condition.

Reports suggest she may have suffered a hip fracture.
Another woman, travelling in the same vehicle, escaped without needing hospital treatment.
Samur-Civil Protection paramedics treated a total of eight people at the scene before transporting them to several hospitals across the capital.
The driver of the ride-hailing vehicle was taken to Ramon y Cajal Hospital with minor injuries.

He suffered bruising to his side and leg, as well as a shoulder injury.
Four passengers travelling in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and went to La Princesa Hospital.
Meanwhile, the collision also injured two Policia Nacional officers travelling in the patrol car.

Both officers went to Infanta Leonor Hospital with minor bruising and contusions.
Images from the scene showed heavily damaged vehicles blocking the intersection as emergency workers cordoned off the area.
Madrid Municipal Police have launched an investigation to determine exactly how the smash-up unfolded.
