It also suggests that new records could be set with daily values that beat highs recorded in 1950.
Aemet is predicting highs of 38C on Tuesday and Wednesday in Alzira, 36C on Wednesday in Manises; and 37C on Monday and Tuesday in Petrer (Alicante).
Other projections include a high of 37C on Monday and 38C on Tuesday in Orihuela and Crevillente hitting 38C on Monday and Tuesday.
Coastal areas will be significantly cooler with a high of 34C on Monday in Torrevieja, and 33C in Benidorm.
