• THEFT: The 80 stolen avocado trees are worth almost 7000 euros |
APPARENTLY not everyone in Spain cared about watching the World Cup.
During the Spain-Portugal match, thieves took advantage of football fans in the Axarquia and dug up over 80 newly-planted avocado trees, worth about 7000 euros.
It is the third such robbery in the last month, with the total number of avocado trees stolen exceeding 300.
Thieves are getting more advanced, say police.
